Default Halloween or Dia de los Muertos?

What holiday do you guys celebrate? I celebrate Dia de los Muertos. Last time I went trick or treating was 9. Gave out candy when I was 16.

halloween is just another excuse to drink the white mans poison and act a fool...

dia de los muertos is a day to reflect...

I love dia de los muertos. What I like from Mexico which they don't have here are calaveras which is a giant sugar skull. Pan de Muerto is pretty good also.

my family has celebrated dia de los muertos for pretty much my whole life.

halloween is cool I guess. The only thing I like about halloween are some of the costumes people come up with. Other than that, I don't like it and I don't celebrate it anymore.

My family and hence myself, have never celebrated Xmas, Easter or Halloween due to their pagan origins.

I'm not so sure about Dia de los Muertos, but I suspect it's strongly connected to Catholicsm, but I don't know for sure and I may very well be wrong.

In either case, I couldn't convince myself to start now. Their evil beginings (Or at least halloweens), have been preached to me from the very start of my life and I couldnt change my habits if I wanted to.

I know people will always say stuff like, "But it's for the kids" and stuff like "I'm not religious but I only do it cause it's fun" and so on and so on. But just cause you've convinced yourself that its just all fun and games, you can't change the fact that its origin is satanic (Halloween).

Because while you are out having fun and dressing yourselves and your kids up as ghosts and demons, there are also real people with very different views on this day celebrating human sacrifice, opposing churches and God, and observing satanic rituals and customs.

And if you are Christian, you are sending a message to those around you as well as your children that witchcraft, satanism, and the accult are things that are fun and acceptable.

But thats just me. Enjoy yourselves.

My ancestor's celeberated Dia De Los Muertos before Christianity ever set foot here. Spirits are given divine permission to visit their friends and family during the day and thats when we make offerings, their favorite food, let them see/hold something that was theirs, pictures, etc. It's not a catholic tradition.

Dia de los Muertos is a holiday that existed before christianity. It's one of the oldest holidays that we celebrate to this day. It's been recently that the Vatican consider it a Catholic holiday even though we been doing it forever. Besides, a lot of stuff from Catholicism is from our religion.

Here's a link of what I found out about Catholicism: http://www.soychicano.com/modules.ph...ght=mexicayotl

I celebrate Dia De Los Muertos and like Karlos, pass out candy on Halloween.

My family's Dia de los Muertos consists of rememberance and tranquility. Death is embraced and welcomed. I really want to be in Janitzio, Michoacan for their celebration of DDLM, they go all out.

My fam didn't really celebrate Dia de los Muertos. Don't know why. I should call my momma and ask her. I want to go back to my family's pueblo and see how they celebrate there, so that when I have kids, I can celebrate the traditions with them
