here's a little history on this.... the gay-marriage ban... was barely lifted back in May ... which is why this prop even came to see the light of day.... in today's ballot...
http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la...,6182317.story I already voted Yes on 8... gay means happy... & marriage doesn't equate to happiness... simple logic really... ![]() |

My initial reaction to Prop 8, was "no". I do not care if same sex couples get married, it is nothing to me and if two people can be happy then why deny them that.
On the other hand, domestic partnerships all ready exists so why the need to get married if they already enjoy the same rights and benefits as married couples. And even though the Prop has nothing to do with education, it is possible that in the future, homosexual relationships would have to be talked about in schools. Which again might be good, I mean they talk about gay senators chasing after adolescent boys on the news, maybe the discussion should start in school. |

I was undecided on this prop for a while.... I made up my mind last week and I am voting No, but I don't have a firm stance on this issue.

I'm voting no.
To deny a certain people to get married just bc of other people's beliefs is wrong. We fucking live in the 21st century, we need to act like it. Plus I think people are against this prop since we are the "domino" state. We were the first states to allow kids of all ethnicities to go to the same school (Mendez vs. Westminster and the California Board of Education), one of the first to allow mix marriages, plus one of the first to start many rights (farm workers allowed to start a union) plus we were the state to have the first hippies. Then the first ones to have electric cars, but letting corrupted corporations & corrupted government to remove them.

I'm voting No, because I am pansexual and believe everyone has a right to marriage, under law.
The marriage between two people of the same sex or ambiguity, transgenered or pansexual has no impact on another person(s) life.

Can't vote on it because I don't reside in California, but I'd vote yes.

Voting yes. Marriage should always remain between a man and a woman. Worse yet if they start teaching it in schools without my consent. The school superintendendant deceitfully said it is not "required" for teachers to teach it. But never said they will not.

I can bet you that even if California passes this. The ACLU and Liberals will do everything in their power to over turn the will of the people.

Ok... Horses are not people. Besides, the horse does not have some form, one way or another, to communicate that they want to get married.

A horse is a horse of course. A horse is animal. Last time I checked, they didn't have voting rights nor have they paid taxes.
Last time I checked, gays were human and a large number of them vote and the majority pay taxes. Maybe the obvious, they are citizens of this country.

I voted no. A friend sent me an email that was against it and it said something like, "they have the right to be as miserable as the rest of us" and I agree
![]() I don't buy the "school teaching it to our kids" thing. I never learned about marriage when I went to school. What's sad is a lot of people are voting yes for that reason.
