Default The Revolt of the Cockroach People

I finally got the Book The Revolt of the Cockroach People today in the mail. I'm so happy. Even though I read it, I'll probably re read it again or let someone borrow it like I do with most of my books. Anyway, what is everybody opinion on the book?

It's an authobiography of Oscar Zeta Acosta, a chicano lawyer who is forgotten by our chicano people. The sequel to The Authobiography of a Brown Buffalo. He helped with the chicano movement.

...Yea this book is really firme to read. It is a good starter book for us who want to get more acquanted with what exactly the Chicano Movement is about. The most F'ed up part in the book, is when the county jail gets away with the murder of a Chicano Teen. It was really messed up how the cover-up was believed. Overall I would rate this book a 9.5/10 ...(Strongly recommend it for us CHICANOS to read and understand all the injustices which occured within the book

People in power can do a lot more than you think. Even though they have the power, they shouldn't abuse it.

and Buffalo Zeta Brown loses his mind.

WTF
You should be saying WTF to the term Latino bc it was only Chicanos during that time.

Brown Buffalo and Zeta were his nicknames. It explains it more in the books of why.

Just read the book. To summarize it is very hard if you read the book.

It was a very awesome book. And it was kind of short too. It should be required reading in every High School History class. I know I'll make my students read it.

Autobiographies are like that, where they write it as if it was nothing. Why do you think people like biography's more? Someone else writes it and makes it as interesting as it can be.

Also, by the end of the case, he was really sick of it. It really took it's toll on him. This guy was into partying, drugs, sex, taking crazy road trips with crazy white guys. Really didn't have any type of commitment to Chicano rights. He was an unwilling hero.

I think he was like that before he got into the book Recolt of the cockaroach people. If ya read Autobiography of a brown buffalo, it does seem he was into just kickign back and getting high and all that other shit. He did just want to write a great book, which lead him done a road where he was semi unwilling, but in the end it seems like he was glad he did it ya know? By that time he was getting drunk and smoking pot with other Chicanos. But yes he was and unwilling hero, dont think he wanted to be one at all, just wanted a great story.

Sometimes you can't avoid destiny, or as my friend calls it the inevitable.
