Default linguistic prejudice

I recently had an argument with an anglo friend who was trying to convince me that chicano english was inferior to standard american english. He kept trying to point out that chicano english had a less disciplined structure, was less organized, and less capable of deep intellectual thought. I told him that his own prejudice negated any attempt at superiority. any thoughts?
