I've started it many times but haven't ever finished for some reason. I'm trying to read it before going to bed so that it can become a habit and I can start reading more books and faster.

I'm just getting into it. It's talking about how ghost stories and things of the like usually arise out of times that are filled w social, political, and/or violent/militarized turmoil.

I downloaded the free sample after all the chatter about it on facebook and with the movie coming out. Between Sunday and yesterday I finished the first book and I'm already 7 chapters into the second book.

Book one was an interesting story, the second book has a second twist and has me interested in where it is going. I'll have to let you know when I'm done.

How different is it than lord of the flies? Or the Japanese movie battle royale?

I've never seen the Japanese movie battle royale but I might check it out this weekend if I can find it. As to Lord of the Flies there can be some comparisons made but the context is a little different since the purpose of the hunger games from the start was to have the contestants kill each other off. Whereas with Lord of the Flies societal norms slowly degraded, but then again it has been over a decade since i've read the book.

Right on, and battle royale I highly recommended...a little gory but an awesome movie!
