Default Please suggest some books!!

Hey everyone I wanted to know if you guys could suggest some books that I could read. May be some books from chicano authors. I'm on break from college for the summer and I work at home so I want to keep busy during the day by reading but I don't know of any good books to read. If you have any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

i mostly answered to this cuz i know there are some ppl here that have really good suggestions...but ill give you my favorite books anyway..

i think that a really good book is always running and the making of a latin king it just gives two perspectives...

Caramelo is also a very good book...theyr all mostly fiction...inspired by real life..

If you haven't yet, i strongly recommend Rain of Gold by Victor Villaseñor. Don't let the thickness talk you out of it..lol...trust me, once your done you'll be like "That's it?????"

and then you'll probably go buy the sequel, "Thirteen Senses."

Another one I love is "In the Time of Butterflies"

THE REVOLT OF THE COCKROACH PEOPLE by Oscar Zeta Acosta. It isn't gangster, but there is destruction, sex, drugs, and chicanos in it.

Yea I really liked 13 senses a memoir. I need to check out Rain of Gold to though. Although 13 senses isnt so much about history it is a really good book, long but worth your while.

Maybe it would be best to look around you and figure out what your culture is. Not really sure how to recommend something so personal over the internet.
