Default Tilt-Shift

Anyone ever venture in it? My closest was messing with a lens baby. It was at night so none of my pictures turned up well at all...

But for those with interest, here's a cool tutorial:

not sure who you were asking this question to but from the looks of it, you'll be able to follow the tutorial she posted with just about any lens.

Or you can do it in camera using the lensbaby

do a search on flickr for lensbaby to see the type of images you can get from this device.

I don't own a lens baby, I used one that belongs to a friend. I was a terrible photographer and forgot to pack my extra battery that night, so the shots that I took were on his 40D using his CF card. I have absolutely no proof that I've ever taken images with a lens baby.

However, we're considering purchasing the new one, "The Composer." I hear that there's a 25% student discount so it's $200 instead of $270.

That's a pretty cool video. Why Discovery Channel?

i'm a big fan of the planet earth series....
and watching tilt shift time lapsed films makes me see the are differently.... i see the bigger picture of nature and how small we really are. We come and go so easily and quickly but nature is slow and steady. I feel it would be a great way for somebody making a documentary about the environment or nature to show how small we really are.

The images in planet earth are already stunning enough though...I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much if it were done too artistically like using tilt-shift lenses.

i agree, the images in planet earth are amazing. The one that always gets me is one of a great white coming clean out of the water in slow motion hd. You can really feel and see the enormity of how deadly they are.

i don't think I could watch an entire show in tilt shift... but i think it could be a nice tool to show certain things.

check the latest vid i just posted up on my blog it's another tilt shift time lapse. All of these had to have taken a ton of time.....

The videos are really cool. They look pretty "Planet Earthish" in their time lapse sequence, only the BBC did them for a years worth of footage.

It looks like I'm getting closer and closer to getting a Lens Baby, Adorama has a 10% of sale going on right now, and the original 2.0 is at $75, down from 140+
