Default Boxing 2014

So, I was hyped and ready to go, even bought my tickets to the rematch at Staples, and its postponed. Whhhyyyyy??? If you're not in the loop, I'm talking about Abner Mares vs. Jhonny Gonzalez. Apparently little Abner hurt his ribs. I'm thinking Golden Boy decided to put this on the May 3rd card knowing that a mayweather Kahn fight won't garner much interest. But we'll see. I hope its still happening at Staples.
I went to the first fight at Stub Hub Center, aka the Home Depot Center in Carson , and man, quite a shocker. First time I took my kids to see live boxing, they liked it. All the fights were knockouts!

What fights are you looking forward to? What prospects ?

GGG is the most interesting fighter to me right now. Mikey Garcia is ready for the big time too. Canelo vs Cotto would be interesting, but I'd rather see Canelo vs GGG. He'd lose IMO.

what does everyone think of PBC? I enjoy the free boxing cards for sure, but the part that irks me is how Al Haymon stole 90% of Golden Boy's stable with the help of its CEO, richard schaeffer.. of course, others say if Oscar De La Hoya wasn't on the coca, he'd have control of his company, but then it's like.. Schaeffer WAS the ceo.
i'm just not cool with the 'hijacking'.

but of course, the business that comes out of the art of boxing is such a cesspool.

PBC is coo.. hit or miss but overall good to see boxing without getting ripped off. HBO/Showtime fights are still a bit better IMO.

DLH is doing ok making his way back into the fight biz after his rehab... despite the issues with Haymon & Schaeffer...

Just hope that history doesn't hinder interesting fights later on.

agreed! but it looks like it's going to at least with GoldenBoy/Haymon fighters and Haymon/Top Rank fighters.. it sucks because Haymon has a ton of 'established' fighters who would match up great with GB/Top Rank fighters. Even Roc Nation's fighters (Cotto, Ward) will not do business with Haymon..

we'll see what happens.

what card do you all plan to watch saturday?

I'm excited for Herrera - Lundy! ready for Herrera to get a chance at being lineal champ (as he rightly should be) after that Garcia and Benavidez fiasco.

Thurman is a great fighter, i just wish he'd go against real competition.i don't know what Haymon's doing here... no disrespect to luis collazo though, at least he has a good pay day.

How lucky am I? Got tickets for the Mares SC card at Staples. Even though Abner was KO'd, I still favor him in this fight due to him being able to perservere in tougher matches than what Leo has been through. Really looking forward to the night, moreso because its my first fight at Staples Been to Stub Hub plenty of times, and it is a great venue for championship boxing, just wanted to see a fight at this particular spot.

Leo has the most annoying voice in boxing, hope mares murders him.
