Default Shellac for nails

so, I got this Shellac treatment done on my natural nails about a month ago (after a year of trying to grow them out after acrylics ruined them) and I love it, so I thought I'd share it with you. This video sucks btw, but it gets the point across...

and these are my nails after 4 weeks

I got it done again at another place, it was a lot cheaper, but I despise the job they did. So I went and bought the system so i can do it myself. It set me back about $112 but I only got 3 colors and a cheap version of the lamp. Just an FYI.

If I get my nails done, it's usually just a french tip manicure on my natural nails. I haven't had acrylics in years because last time I had them they fucked my nails up!

I read up on this and I saw that it uses a lot of chemicals and a UV light and that you can only get them removed in a salon with some more chemicals?

Actually, it's removed with 100% pure acetone and you can remove them at home. I do. I've found that-as a nail biter- keeping my nails pretty keeps me from biting them. I too had acrylics and took me over a year to get my natural nails back to normal. And as far as the UV light goes- gel nails also need UV light and they're A LOT harder to get off (I should know lol)

Man! I'm glad I don't bite my nails. lol.

One of my old roommates always used to yell at me for not painting my nails because they grow long naturally. lol. I haven't gone in for a manicure in the longest time! Maybe next paycheck I'll spoil myself

you should!! If your nails are thick (Which mine aren't) and you try the shellac, they'll stay on longer! It is a little pricey tho- usually 50% more than a regular manicure.

But if your nails are already thick and pretty, I wouldn't try to fix something that's not broken.. Lucky you lol as for me and my thin nails with my biting habit, I think it's a good idea that I bought the system haha

50% more?! Then it's a regular manicure for me! lol.

It's such a chore for me to paint my nails. I don't think I dress up enough to warrant my nails being painted all the time. lol.

I have had the shellac black on my toes now for about 3 weeks and they are still looking flawless

I was wondering though - do you have to take it off every few weeks or am I ok to leave it on as long as I like? I wasn't sure if it was bad for my nails to leave it on longer that the usual 2 or so weeks...
