You just said it yourself. All the straightening and coloring drys out your hair. Try to cut back on it, or try getting a professional straightening done to it, its basically like a perm, but to straighten your hair once every three months or so, it might help cut back on all the heat procedures you have to do to it.

Try using a leave-in condition regularly. When you are done washing your hair, don't rub the towel all over it to dry it or you will create frizz. Also, once you put your product in, don't keep touching your hair. That also creates frizz.
I have curly hair, but I hate fussing with it. I just straighten it out, and make sure to use conditioner (regular and leave-in) all the time. I also get regular trims to keep the ends fresh.

the lady who does my hair told me it's fucked up now..she recommended almond oil, using it for about once or twice a week. it works. i also use tresemme's moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.. they both work for me.

If you have to buy drug store brand shampoo and conditioner try Infusium. I have always liked that one.
Ms..what is the almond oil supposed to do and how do you buy it? |

I haven't done this in a while, but I like to use hot oil treatments once a week or every two weeks...depends how damaged your hair is. Most salon stores carry them, if not V05 is good and it's around 5 bucks.

I used to use pantene also, but I have to tell you, I hear lots of stuff about it in the salon biz. It has beeswax in it, so for temp hair care its ok, but long term use, it leaves a build up on your hair. so if you use it you have to use a clarifying shampoo one or twice a month and that will over dry your hair if you use it too often also. Pantene from what I know now, is actually not good for your hair. I might be wrong, but I just havent heard good things about it.

^^I remember vero mentioning that pantene was bad when she used to post. I don't think she explained why, but she made it clear that pantene was not good for your hair.

Curly hair is wonderfully sexy and exciting yet there are some facts to remember about products.
All products are water soluble. Using conditioners do two things: 1. They have proteins which strengthen hair but at the same time make hair harder. It's the creams in the conditioners that make the hair soft. In dry climates conditioners eventually dissipate in about 3 to 4 hours and by the next day, hair looks dull instead of shiny as it should. In humid climates conditioners dilute so relying on conditioners is ok only if you can lock them in until the next shampoo. 2. Trying to retain moisture with a conditioner is like trying to squirt water out of a water bottle into a fire. Moisturizers attract more moisture but unfortunately the hair only can use 10 to 11% of that moisture for optimum moisture levels. That means that a moisturizer will attract more moisture than the hair needs and once the hair is overloaded and dries, here comes good ole frizz. The key is to allow your hair to attract what it needs and a product that will allow your hair to stand up to any climate without frizzing, maintaining beautiful curls that have definition with no frizz halo. It depends on the girl. I dated this chick once who looked hot with straight hair, but she heard me say that I like curly hair. The next time I saw her, she had gotten a perm! She fucked her hair up!

![]() ![]() ![]() lol i love Finesse. Shampoo, Conditioner and Mousse. Their prices are going up but still genrally cheap and it leaves my hair nice and soft. When they wash my hair at the salon before a cut they always ask what i use cause its soft. I think that's mostly from the mousse.

Curly hair care tips as follows:
1.Use a shampoo and conditioner that is particularly made for curly hair. 2.Stay away from using narrow toothed combs and brushes. Use wide-toothed combs instead which has less of a tendency to cause breakage and frizzing. 3.Let your hair naturally dry. 4.Deep condition your hair once a month or more to re moisturize your scalp and hair. |
