Is there a particular reason you want to save money, or did you just pull this decision out of the air? The right reason to invest is as important as what you invest in.

For starters, do some research on the different types of investment plans out there, and meanwhile place your money in a 3 or 6 month CD account to help prevent you from spending it while you decide what your next step should be.
you know what i didint think of that, is it for when i retire or to make a living with it

A CD account? A CD account (Certificate of Deposit) is a high interest savings account with restrictions that keep you from withdrawing your mula early. The interest rate is predetermined, and usually the more you deposit and the longer you wish to loan it to the bank, the higher the interest rate will be. This isn't mean to be a long-term investment plan, but it will keep you from spending it until you're ready to make an informed decision on what to invest on while earning a fairly high interest rate.

i invest in my 401k, since the market is fluctuating, and is in a downward spiral more than a upswing. I invest about 60% in bonds, and the other 40 in the S&P to gain alittle investment. I had to change it up becasue before I was investing about 80% in high risk stocks. I was losing more than invseting over a 12 month period.

I really encourage all young people to invest in a 401k.
Leave the money and contribute when you can. You will need it later.
Also, did you know you can borrow from it from time to time?
I know guys who have saved then borrowed the money to pay off their car and other bills, then paid the loan back and then borrowed again to buy a house. It is so much better to borrow from yourself. Also, its great when your company contributes to your savings.

Damn! This thread is almost 7 years old!!!
BTown, for now just get a no-load mutual fund that follows the S&P 500 Index. Contribute regularly. Whatever the S&P 500 is doing is what your money is doing.
