Well I actually don't mind being low in post count. I do a LOT of reading on forums such as this one which tackle real issues. Often times members post exactly what I am thinking.

We apply make up. I embalm, set facial features and do funerals as well as work with family's in making arrangements.

Setting features simply means I insert eye caps, wire mouth shut, insert mouth piece and stay cream if needed. I brush the hair and plug any holes exposed in the neck. Then I take a photo for record.

It pays pretty good I think. You can make any where from 50k to 65k a year. But a lot of times I am on call for pick ups or have to work night shift.

No I would not have sex with an attractive corpse. It has not crossed my mind. They are cold, pale, rigid and sometimes have a bad odor depending on how long they have been deceased.

^ I'll take that as an indirect yes to my question since answering yes directly could implicate you and cost you your job. So, to be a funeral director, what kind of educational background and degree does one need?

18 month apprenticeship and 2 years school.

IV in the neck. I get a lot of diabetics that have usually just one hole. But once you die and set you will start to leak and purge.

I got into this field because I have family in Richmond, VA who are also in the field. I also wanted to help families in their time of need.

Funny you mention that. I have been told that it has desensitized me. I have a great respect for life and death. Dealing with it every day you end up making the most of every day. I will say that after working in this field I am not afraid of death. It is going to happen no matter what so I make the most of each day.

Hey what kind of firearm is that?

Yes 1800 degrees for an hour does it. Depending on how much body fat there is. The afterburner kicks in and speeds the process up. I then get to scoop the ash, bone and any metal into a canister and use a magnet to get out all the metal. Then I crush the rest.

i like your outlook on how you percieve life and death, it is taboo to many, even myself i am misunderstood on the subject. the inevitable is always frightening.

The firearm in the pic is a Glock 31 .357 sig. I am a firearm collector.

Very nice. Here is a pic of mine. H&K USP Compact .357sig. I use Hornady for protection and Speer for the range. With a hogue grip.

The other pic is a bunch of pics from my work I took and put together with Paint.

Yes I stay pretty busy. There is no smoke from the bodies it goes up and outside. Looks like a giant metal pizza oven.

I would like to get the H&k P3000 or P30

Also we don't wear masks. They have them but no one ever uses them. Once you get used to the smell its like anything else.

Here ya go D-TOWN

I would also like that gun.
