In any case... slaves or slave owners it is reflective how a lot of us brown folks from the americas have histories of the insidious nature of conquest and colonialism.

I had already about some hispanics being of Jewish descent. You can tell by the practice of eating "semita" (semitic bread) , or how we all use "masa" (sounding like matza)

Yes, bread was brought by Europeans (for Mexico, it was first the Spanish Country, then all the fancy ones from the French).

So how is masa (masas made out of corn & amaranth were in Mexico before the conquest.) proof of some people having Jewish roots? The term Masa came from the Spanish to the Americas. Not sure of the origin of that word though.

Hmmm... couldn't say. But you'll have to ask Anne deSola Cardoza who wrote the article: Texas Mexican secret spanish jews today

I have read the article:

http://www.sefarad.org/publication/lm/011/texas.html

The writer have twisted a few things here and there to further the agenda of the story.

Yes, there are some Mexican who have Jewish roots, but the article isn't helping, but damaging the claim for example nopalitos lampreados; egg and cactus. If the writer knew their history on plants, she would know the cactus was indigenous to the Americas and didn't spread to other parts of the world until after the conquest.

There's some things I could add or extend on the article, but I'm a bit tired right now.
