1. why do they even bother to number them? Coz the real name would scare you.
2. Has anyone cut their lips trying to open one? YES and fingers as well.
3. How much are the good ones worth on the gray market? nothing.
4. Are they forced fed at guatanamo as a form of torture? yes.
5. Are they bulletproof? yes
6. In the event of a nuclear war what would survive longer the plastic or the food? the food. we were instructed to smear it on ourselves in the event of nuclear fall out for survival.
7. Can u use the food for demolision work? yes. often we would use the peanut butter and jelly packets as C-4. They compliment eachother very well.

Hah... I have about 10 different meals still for emergency reasons. You never know when you are going to need them. Vero has had one and she actually liked it. She had the Spaghetti and meatballs.

The one meal that I never could stomach was the one commonly referred to as "five fingers of death".

Never again!

But yeah, I grabbed a bunch of the "good ones" before I left my command in San Pedro. At one point, I took home a couple cases of them. That was during the time I was strapped for cash. I was eating them every day. LOL

It pays to have hook-ups with the Supply folks.

I see a lot of people mention that eating MREs is like taking Ex-Lax. I beg to differ. Everyone I have come into contact with, including myself, will swear that MREs are a good way to become constipated! I found that was a good thing as sometimes you are on watch for 12 hours at a time and you do not want to be having to worry about taking a dump later on.

Not to mention the flavored powder that you add to water to make "Bug Juice"... great for "bright works"! (Polishing Brass) That stuff eats off tarnish like nothing. And we would drink it! Hahahahha.

Has anyone been in trouble for creating mini bombs with the heating element of the MREs?

Man whoever said the cause diahrea...is stupid. hahaha
MRE's are designed specifically to stop you up!!! there are no empty calories in MRE's at all!
There is very little waste from eating MRE's, waste as in you don't shit for days!!! If you eat nothing but MRE's for like 10 days you'll understand. In 10 days you may go 5 times. that's it.

I noticed they have been throwing in good candies too like Skittles. Each time I opened one up, first thing I looked for was Skittles.

LOL, mre's are uckie .. I remember when we were stationed in Georgia the x brought a case of them home - he was at work, and I was curious about em, so I opened em up - they looked gross but there was these little white chocolates I found in a bunch of the pckts - so I popped one in and liked it - I went searching for all the little white "chocolates" and ate em - lol - well after awhile, my belly started hurting - long story short, I pretty much overdosed on what they told me later at the ER was "laxatives".
