Default What is your favorite children's book?

So the other day I was at UCLA with my roommate and I was looking through the bookstore and found Where The Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein which I loved as a kid. It made me nostalgic and it also made me wonder what are other classic children's books.

Some of mine off the top of my head:

Where The Sidewalk Ends- Shel Silverstein
Corduroy- Don Freeman
The Very Hungry Caterpillar- Eric Carle
If You Give A Mouse A Cookie- Laura J. Numeroff

Danny and the Dinosaur by Syd Hoff

Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day by Judith Viorst

The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams

Wow...

You know I was never fond of Where the Wild Things Are...not sure why. lol.

I used to love going to the library and spend hours in the children's section just reading everything I could find. Even when I was a teen studying in the library, I'd take study breaks in the children's section haha.

I'd love to build a children's book collection for when I have kids

Oooohhhhh... CLIFFORD!!!

I loved Clifford.!!

I also liked the Judy Blume Books as I grew older

Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing was one of my favorites..

Then Again maybe I won't ..

Superfudge..

Freckle Juice

Are you there God it's Me Margaret ..

Now that one while was aimed to a mostly girl audience was the first exposure I ever had as a child to religious doubt and the idea of not knowing what you were when it came to religion. I always thought you were what you're parents were and that was what was right. That book opened my eyes to different POV's when it comes to religion..

Wow...

Haven't thought of these books in Years..

XC.. Wild Things always disturbed me a bit too.. but I liked it for some weird reason..

I remember the covers for those books but don't recall reading them. If I did read them, I can't remember what they were about. The books I remember reading were from RL Stein and Stephen King. This was when I was older... probably in middle school or something.
