Talking Trying to find bad-a$$ Chicano Rap Song (...with Metallica-guitar sample). Please he

Here's my story:

(early Spring of 2000)...

I was stationed in California and one of
my fellow soldiers living in the B's (barracks)
was really into anything & everything having to do
with Chicano Rap / Hip Hop/ "Gangsta Rap", ect.

I myself am not really into hip-hop
(I'm a Metal Head \../ \../)...

...but, damn!!
this one song he was blasting
was HYPE and it was HEAVY!!!

For the life of me,
I do not know the name of the artist or the title of the song
so this does not make my question an easy one to answer...

...but I will try my best to "fill in" as many
details as possible that I can recall / remember:

I)

The chorus
(the best and most baggin' part of the song!!)
might have included either the lyrics, the title or the name
"FLORES"... or... "TORES" (or something to that effect)...

...and (I THINK)
the song itself MIGHT be titled...
or at least is in reference to...

...a 'hood / barrio / crew / set / clika / homie /
head shot-caller (...or whatever...)
with that name.

II)

Furthermore
(and my personal favorite!!)...

...the song also includes a sample from
the acoustic-guitar intro to Metallica's song
"Battery" (from their 1986 "Master of Puppets" album)
playing & repeating through out the entirety song...

Actually,
I almost thought it sounded like a "metal" song
(from the Metallica sample).

However...
the delivery and "flow" of the song
sounded alot more like "hip-hop"...

...and the lyrical content (ie, laced with some profanity)
was or sounded like (for lack of a better description)
"gangsta rap"...

...so that slammin' chorus
combined with the sample of the Metallica guitar intro
made me want slam thru a wall the first time I heard it
(I effn LUV music like... especially heavy metal!!).

I've done some googling on the net
to try and find it myself...
but so far... nada.

I also thought for a minute the song
MIGHT be from South Park Mexican...

...but I don't think it's his because I have yet
to find that song in his catalog (so far, anyway)...

...and the artist / album will have to have come out
just before or sometime around early in the year 2000
since it was in the early Spring of that year that I first heard the song.

Also...
the performing artist and/or "group" in question
might be from an independent / "underground" label
rather than a major label (duh!!).

Yeah, I know that is not alot of info to go by...
but that is the best I can do and those are all
the details I remember about the song.

OR... to ask my question another way:

DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY "CHICANO-STYLED" MUSIC
(ie, "Rap"... "Hard-Rock"... "Heavy Metal"...ect)...

...THAT HAS USED OR 'SAMPLED' THE
GUITAR MELODIES FROM METALLICA??

Any help or assistance
I can get in trying to track down, locate or identify
that chingon, bad-a$$ song would be much appreciated.

Gracias!!

MV

Look into the voice/accent of the artist and try to match it up. You know like South Park Mexican and Lil Rob don't sound alike, both in their voice and lingo. It's been a while for me, i'd sayy groups like "Cypress Hill"(B Real), Delinquent Habits, Molotov, Control Machete, maybe Conejo would sample something similar to Metallica or that guitar intro

Thanks for the reply & help...
especially with listing those
other bands & artists.

I'm not familiar with any of them...
but it does sound like
as good a place to start as any
to begin my musical "research / investigation".

About the only other information
that I recall about the song in question
was that the song appeared to be performed by
a "group" instead of just one singer or frontman
(at least during the chorus, anyway).

And again...
the 'signature piece' that REALLY stood out
about the song and caught my attention
was the sampled acoustic-guitar intro by Metallica.

If anyone can recognize or identify
the (chicano??) artist that used that sample...
I think that's half the battle right there.

Thanks for the help & recommendation, though.
I really appreciate that. Salud!!

That song you posted by Buck-65 ("Up The Middle")
is not the one I remember.

Buck-65 sound like white dudes from the East Coast
and it sounds like only one person who is doing the singing.

The song I remember was definitely Chicano Rap for sure
(not white dudes, lol!!) because there was at least a few Spanish words
and it was more than just one person performing / singing...

but!!!...
Buck-65 are using the EXACT SAME Metallica guitar sample
from the song "Battery" that I do remember more than anything else.

So thanks for the help and thanks for looking out
(...and please excuse me for taking so long to reply).
