Unhappy insomnia? oversleep?

Hello soy,

so i've been on winter break from school and recently took a week off from work

so a few weeks ago I could not sleep at all, I work afternoon-night shift
from 4-around 12.. and fridays 4pm-4am
so when I get home i'd be usually tired but I just could not sleep.. i'd fall asleep randomly and i'd wake up around noon on saturdays and earlier on weekdays.

Now, I oversleep. I go to sleep at around 10 and I wake up at around 2pm..
I wake up earlier sometimes but I just seem to fall right back asleep.

Any advice on how to get back to my normal sleeping pattern?
I start school next week so I really have to get right.

I took nyquil and tynenol pm and it just wears right off..

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Forreal Forreal, Tylenol PM is way bad for you and so is Nyquil.

You don't even have to smoke it if you're against that, there are edibles you can consume that do the trick, and there's always the vaporizer option...

just avoid sleeping during the day. but be active. go out running, go to the gym, do some yard work.

at night your body should be tired enough to go to sleep. also avoid things like coffee after 4pm. don't force yourself to want to sleep or think about it too much.

and if all else fails, then i guess pot would work
maybe get drunk.

and sex. can't go wrong with sex.

the problem with things like sleeping aids or other drugs is that you might become depenednt on them. so be careful with that.

There is sleepy time tea which is basically tea "de manzanila" or chamomile. Get plenty of sun when you're in the sun. Eat healthy. As for oversleeping, get an alarm clock lol hmm you might just need conditioning for your over nite schedule, not sure what kind of work you're doing but that might affect it as well. Some sort of treat awaiting the end of your slumber might help you wake up. And I would stay away from coffee or at least not drink over 1 cup a day.

Insomnia is no bueno. I suffer from it for weeks at a time, usually because I have so much on my mind and stress. I drink a lot of teas, especially during winter and fall, but honestly they don't help. Exercise seems to do the trick but with my busy schedule and lack of motivation I just put it to the side....

I was recently having a hard time falling sleeping or sleeping through the night, and I think it was due to extreme stress. It was beginning to wear on me, until I started working out a few hours before bedtime.
Now, I've always heard that you shouldn't work out before you go go to bed, but I've found that, that has worked for me.

I've found that I sleep better when I've worked out anytime during the day as opposed to days I didn't work out..

people say that because it's hard for you to fall asleep after exercise. not because it's bad for you. at least I don't think it is.

you probably should wait a few hours after exercising before sleeping...you'll get a better night sleep if your heart isn't racing like crazy.

Right, that's what I've heard also. That one would be too "worked up" to fall asleep, not that I've heard that it's bad for you.

I don't go straight to bed after a work-out. I'm usually out about 3 hrs. afterwards.
