Genocide of the Mind is a book about Natives of Norht AMerica and there are different stories from different people, telling their stories about how they were forced to see thrmselve as natives and how it was beat ouf of them, their culture that is. It is a really good book.

I dont do book clubs, but i do read.

This is a Chicano site and we should promote Chicano writers in our Book Club - or Chicano subjects.

I think good books should be promoted, regardless of subject matter or the ethnicity of the writer. Of course, I may be in the minority.

I really did. I identified with the "Pocho" character. He reminded me of different things that happened in my childhood that made me realize I was not completely Mexican or American.

I am still reading The Hummingbird's Daughter and looking forward to reading Genocide of the Mind.

a good book to read is the Tortilla Curtain by TC Boyle. that book is entertaining and is a story about a couple from mexico who migrate to this country to work and make ends meet and it s about their trials and tribulation being undocumented and how their lives intertwine w this wealthy white couple from the hollywood hills... real engaging read.

I been trying to find books from the Chicano perspective
The Republic of East L.A. haven't read it in a while
Drink Cultura-It was had a lot of comedy and history
Chicanos Soldados in Vietnam-Gritty telling stories about Chicanos everything from fratricide to drug abuse
The Last Supper of the Chicano Heros-Pretty much a bigger version of Drink Cultura
Cholo Style-Is ok you can see that dude learned his skills in the pinta.
