From what I understood there was a split in the Berets. Our jefe was Seferino Garcia out of Anaheim I believe. I don't know if that's still the case as it was years ago. We were based out of Detroit and the leader of our chapter worked with MECHA (MEXA) from Michigan State, the National Chicano Moratorium Committee in Arizona, the UFW, the UAW union, and other community-based projects and organizations.

I was the Minister of Defense and Education for a minute.

Sorry I don't remember much as it was about 13 years ago and I haven't kept up with anyone after moving to Mexico.

Happy to answer any questions based on experience and what I can remember...

I would say your info is a bit out of date.

Without saying much, there has been talks and discussions a few years ago from a few brown beret groups to discuss their differences.

I'll leave what I know for my "biography" along with the pics I taken when I'm old when the stuff will become irrelevant by then.
