SoyWiki - Idiot proof Tutorial

This is Soy's New WikiPage

In order for you to start adding/editing images or texts to your profile, here is a basic tutorial to get you all started.

Also, I have added direct links to new pages with information on certain members with the assumption that they will be active in their profile. I just added a handful of members to give everyone an idea what should be on that particular page. Everyone is welcome to add their own name/profile.


Step 1

Go to the Main page: http://soychicano.pbwiki.com/
And click on "Create an Account" like in the picture below:

Step 2

You will be taken to "Create a PBwiki Account" page; add the information to sign up to use SoyWiki, like in the picture below:





Step 3

Go back to the main page and click look at the "Side Bar". The Side Bar will have the options and look like this:



Click on "SoyChicano Members"



Step 4

Once you have clicked on "SoyChicano Members", it will take you to a page that looks like this:

This is what the "SoyChicano Members" page should look like, please find your name in the section. If your name is not underlined it means it has not been made a page, if your name is not on the list, please create a page.

In order to create a page for both issues of names not being underlined or not being on the list. Click on the "Create a Page" button, on the mid-top right when you are viewing SoyWiki. Here is an example:

Step 5

One you click on the "Create a Page" button, you will be taken to a page that looks like this:

Now that you created a page, it should be shown in the "Recent Wiki Activity" bar, on the mid-bottom of the right side of the page. You can click on your new page, which you created to start adding stuff to your page, by clicking on it from there. OR you can go to the main page and click on "FOLDERS" button, which is below the "Side Bar" section.

When you click on the symbol "FOLDERS" it will take you to a page with every page, look for the one you just created. Click on it and it will take you to the page view.

Now click on the "EDIT" tab of the name you just clicked.

you will be taken to a page that looks like this, instead of it saying "SoyChicano Members" it will say the name of the page you just made:

Now that you are on the "EDIT" tab, you will see it gave you a lot of tools for you to edit your profile. You may add anything you like and add whatever you want. This is your page.



Step 6

Once you are done make sure to click on "SAVE". You are finished.

If you messed up and do not want to save, click on "CANCEL" and follow the steps again, however, DO NOT MAKE A NEW PAGE, JUST GO TO FOLDERS, AND CLICK ON YOUR PAGE NAME AGAIN. It will take you back to your page and will be blank.

You are done.

Cool, thanks mang...i'm still trying to figure out how this wiki reads the codes, I want to fill color the whole table on the right with my pic. It's been a while since I've practiced html or css...

Yea, I need a bit more precise dates, those were just estimates, I can't remember when I first got internet and a computer, i'd put that too. Also references, but the links are dead and can't find them anymore
