They shouldnt matter. But in your area that may be to prevalent. I see people post stupid shit about going to hole in the wall mom and pops liek they are supposed to be chain fucking restaurants. I dont know if they are hipsters, but they are IDIOTS.

Dont always trust those reviews either. If you pass by the place all the time, fuck it swerve in that bitch and try it, regardless of the reviews you have seen before. Some people are used to having the ass kissed, wiped, and powdered just to get food. That i have learned from the reviews.

Just like i have seen southerners reviews of bbq places in texas. They almost always just REVIEW THE PORK, when texas is about the beef!. And they always hate the sauce because they are used to that sweet shitty sauce instead of a sauce with some tang to it.

And hipster....look at jonas brothers and beiber and you have what a hipster looks like.

I use Yelp when I'm trying to find a place to eat that I haven't been to before or a business I'm thinking about going to (like a hardware store). Usually pretty helpful

I don't review places. Maybe I should? Ehh.

You should if ya kind of disagree with other idiots reviews.
I saw one review that said, "OH THEY HAVE MUSHY FRIES". tHAT AND THE WAIT WAS THEIR BITCH.

yet they must be to high on themselves because any fry that you get TO GO and is sitting in any kind of covered/closed container, the fries will get soggy/mushy, because they are served hot/warm and they build condensation when covered. some people are just to stupid really.

Well I tend to disregard those kinds of reviews anyway. I pay more attention to the ones that rate the place in many different aspects, not just one. I don't go out to eat a lot either so maybe when I do I'll start reviewing.

LOL Nelio, it's common sense for one to disregard those pathetic reviews. One is going to come across a lot of those on any website.

Ooh so that's what a hipster is. Feminine looking 'tards with zero talent.....

I always see people post "#yelp..blah,blah blah," on facebook, what's that about??

Yelp is cool but like people mentioned, it can be annoying with what some people post.

An alternative to yelp is foursquare. The cool thing about it is they limit you to a certain amount of reviews. As a consequence, you are more picky with what restaurants or businesses you do a review for. So in theory, the reviews mean a lot more than on yelp.

but anyways, as far as yelp, yes I use it. I always tend to look at the 2,3,4 star ratings a lot more than the 1 star and 5 star reviews. You don't need to read what the fanboys/girls or the "haters" have to say about a business.

Good ideas on the star ratings. I dont know about that foursquare place tho. I mean there is no reason to limit.

Say i eat out on the weekends and i used yelp to help me find those places, say i want to give me opinions, but i wait til the end of the month to write all my reviews. Now i will be limited?

Any Soy Yelpers out there?

I love writing reviews and blasting the shitty places and giving props to the good spots. Especially since much of my experience is based on the customer service aspect. I think the "Mexicans don't tip well" stereotype sucks and I try to hook up the hard workers (especially the brown ones).
