Just wanted to share some scholarship resources for our high school and college chicanos/chicanas out there. Please feel free to share any other resources if you know of them.
This list was created through a TRiO program at a University in California. - click here to download the excel spread sheet Scholarship for HS seniors in AL, AR, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KY, LA, MS, MO, NC, SC, TN, TX, and VA pass the word around if you know of someone who can applyhttp://promo.regions.com/RidingForwa...BBFEE64764825C Below, please find two PDF summaries from the Educators for Fair Consideration (E4FC) organization. The first field is comprised of scholarships that do not require student social security numbers. The second expounds on 2011-2012 guidelines for financial aid subsidies that would be relevant for the wide swath of students, including AB540. It's somewhat basic but updated for this forthcoming academic cycle. 2011-2012 Scholarships: http://e4fc.org/images/E4FC_Scholarships.pdf2011-2012 Guidelines for Financial Aid: http://www.e4fc.org/images/E4FC_FinAidGuide.pdf D |

This isn't a scholarship but it is an opportunity for High School Juniors
__________________________________________________ _______ Ologie is embarking on an exciting new project: The Ologie Student Union. The Union will consist of a panel of 24 high school juniors who will help us view the college admissions process through the eyes of students and help us get smart about what drives the college decision-making process. We’ll also use this platform to gain insight about parents and guidance counselors. We're seeking a diverse group of students to serve on the panel. So if you know of anyone who might be interested, then please forward them the following link: http://ologie.com/studentunion/ Students have the opportunity receive up to $900 for participating. |

High School College Educators,
This year's application for Experience Berkeley is available: http://www.stileshall.org Black, Latino & Native American juniors with a 3.5 or higher GPA (class of 2013) to get a close, personal look at UC Berkeley. The program identifies promising high school juniors and connects them with what UC Berkeley has to offer in small groups during the summer and school year. They are introduced to college life, taken to classes, given admissions feedback on personal statements, financial aid information, and mentoring throughout the application process. Ø 100 students selected out of 500 applying, statewide Ø double the normal rate Those selected will contribute towards transportation costs, and need-based scholarships are available to cover all costs thanks to PG&E, AT&T and Kaiser. Many current UC Berkeley students said this was a defining experience in their college application and ultimate selection process. Applications are due March 12. Students will be notified by May 18. |

You need FAFSA to go to any college in order to get any kind of financial aid or loans. Make sure you go to www.fafsa.ed.gov and not any other site that may try and charge you in order to complete your FAFSA
These aren't scholarships but they are great Math resources from basic algebra to advance Calculus http://patrickjmt.com/ & http://www.khanacademy.org/ |
