all around the VW is a way better car than a toyota, mechanically the toyota will out do the VW, but the VW will also last you a long time too

Ex: I have own a few VW, my wife had an 02 beetle 05 beetle and a 04 Jetta, I have a 72 beetle.

We have own a few toyotas too, 2008 matrix, 01 corolla and a old celica

the frame and body of the toyota seems to me be lesser than that of the VW, however the engine will last you for ever, VW can go the distance too, but to be honest the most miles we ever put on a VW was under 100k, since we would trade in and buy a new one

check out a cool video from 5th gear or top gear (from UK) titled "how to kill a toyota" they get this pick up and put it thru hell and back and well just watch it, its a 2 part vid

^ Which is much more inexpensive between a Toyota and a Volkswagen when it comes to buying replacement parts at a dealership, online or a junkyard? I reckon Toyota replacement parts are much less expensive then Volkswagens

yeah this may be true ex: alternator toy $180 vs VW $250, water pump toy $50 vs VW $70 and AC compressor Toy $320 vs VW $350, not that bad but yeah, I say unless one has own both brand of cars, then you can say which is better, the damn Germans are some smart mofos

I like both VWs and Toyota but if the decision to buy based on which brand is more econonical then so far Toyotas are the way to go with. But if it's based purely on luxury and style then I'd go with a VW

^ VW do have style , they dont need much to look good, you'd be surprised on the cost, its may not be as high as you think, also when I use to sale cars, the key thing when buying a car is making sure you dont get suckered in with the rebates, notice that Toyota and VW never really have any rebates going on.
